Wording for Joint Custody Agreement E-mail
Custody of children in divorce can be the responsibility of either parent or both. If both share the responsibility it is known as joint custody. In drawing up an agreement before the divorce, the couple could include a joint-custody agreement as follows:

We, the parents of John Michael Davis, agree that we shall have joint custody of our son. Both parents will have an equal input regarding all major decisions affecting his health, religious affiliation, schooling, and welfare and that all decisions regarding these matters shall be made jointly. Any decisions about matters of a day to day occurrence shall be made by the parent who has sole control of our son at the time the decision has to be made. But both parents will make as many of these day to day decisions jointly as is possible.
