Will I lose my Green Card if I get a Divorce? E-mail
If you had the green card for 2 years now, then there will be no change in your immigration status even if you get divorced.

The only thing affected will be your application for citizenship. If you were not married for at least 3 years, and if you haven't had your green card for 5 years, there may be a waiting period before you can apply for full U.S. citizenship.

If in the case that you haven't had your green card for at least 2 years, meaning you still have the 2 year condition on it, you will need to file for removal of condition jointly with your spouse 90 days prior to the expiration on your green card. This assumes that the reason for the divorce is due to domestic violence, imprisonment, incurable mental illness, etc. If this is the case, you will need proof that the reason is indeed true and that you married in good faith.
