Which form is required to be attached to the non-custodial parent's tax return in order to claim the exemption? Parents who are the non-custodial parent who is claiming the exemption for children on their tax return are required to have a Form 8332 accompanying their taxes when they file. The form must be completely filled out by both the father and the mother to ensure that all information is given. If the form is not filled out fully it may not be filed.
