Is Permanent Alimony Possible? E-mail
Alimony is money paid by one spouse, usually the husband, to the other spouse, usually the wife, as part of a divorce settlement. It is possible for the couple to agree to a permanent alimony payment. This means the money will be paid regardless of the marital status or financial situation of the recipient spouse.

Permanent alimony usually occurs when the couple has been married for a long time before their divorce and where the spouse receiving the alimony is most unlikely to find work and thus earn an income.
