Domestic Violence in Divorce E-mail
Domestic violence is a sad and tragic aspect of some marriages. The court regards it as a serious matter. It can be described as cruelty and is certainly a grounds for divorce.

Domestic violence is often thought of as physical abuse in which a cruel spouse assaults their partner. This is a part of domestic violence but there are other aspects as well. A spouse can intimidate and be cruel using words or threats and this, just as in physical abuse, is considered to be domestic violence.

Sometimes domestic violence causes a spouse to make an involuntary separation which means to leave the marital home for reasons of safety.

The court takes the issue of domestic violence very seriously and various agencies are available to help victims of this cruel behavior.
