1. Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards
Charlie and Denise’s bittersweet romance ended as the most outrageous celebrity divorce. The ex-couple’s nonstop brawls and rants have added spice to the divorce drama.
Few years ago, Sheen and Richards’ wobbly marriage had been the scoop of tabloids and became more controversial after Sheen was involved in the Heidi Floss escort scandal. In 2006, Richards formally filed divorce because she could no longer endure her ex-husband’s behavior. The 17-page divorce filing accused Sheen for having involved in Internet pornography, gambling, and drugs.
Moving forward, Sheen harangued his ex-wife a "f***ing c**t" and a "f***ing n****r" that heighten the thrill of the real-life divorce soap opera. The two have been battling over the custody of their two daughters, Sam and Lola, since 2006.
2. Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook
Discovering her husband’s obsession to oral sex and pornography could be Christie Brinkley’s worst nightmare. The 2008 divorce proceedings became a lurid confession of Cook’s fondness to oral and cyber sex. Peter Cook divulged all his dirty laundry including his affair with assistant Diana Bianchi and his $3,000 monthly subscription to online porn. Also, Cook and Bianchi’s sex videos surfaced during the trial.
After the sex twists on Brinkley and Cook’s divorce, the estranged couple has something to reopen. Cook reportedly mocked Brinkley over custody issues.
3. Dina and Michael Lohan
The Lohan’s could have set a record for the noisiest child custody battle. Michael Lohan hasn’t seen his children for more than three years, and wife, Dina, has been preventing him from visiting their children. Judge Robert Ross of Nassau Country Matrimonial Center arranged Michael’s visitation rights; the Court ruled that he must be escorted by a pastor or at least two attorneys.
The Lohan’s relentless bickering made their divorce more titillating to the audience. According to Michael, he was opposed to Lindsay and Samantha Ronson’s relationship, but Dina tolerated her daughter’s involvement with Sam to get half of the fame. Michael was then rumored to have secret love child while separated from Dina.
4. Madonna and Guy Ritchie
Madonna and Guy’s divorce was speculated by many since the start of marriage. The two came from different worlds and have extremely opposite outlook in life and marriage. The seven-and-a-half year marriage halted after filing a quick divorce. Guy is entitled to receive about $76 - $92 million. The former couple’s assets were divided to their two sons, Rocco and David. However, Guy cleared that he did not ask for support and he wanted to get the joint custody.
Madonna and Guy had tried to keep their divorce unscathed, but their efforts became unsuccessful. All speculations were cut after Madonna, in her sold-out concert, quipped “This song is for the emotionally retarded. Maybe you know some people who fall into that category. God knows I do."
5. Heather Mills and Paul McCartney
There’s one obvious reason why many women are dying to get Paul McCartney: money. Named as Britain’s richest musician, the lucky woman could go home with at least £40 million. Former model Heather Mills has been called by fans as “gold digger” due to her quick marriage and divorce with ex-Beatle star Paul McCartney. Heather charged physical abuse against McCartney; but fans claimed it was Heather’s tactic to get a larger portion of the singer’s assets. The former model also revealed that she signed up a prenuptial agreement to protect Paul’s fortune.
On March 17, 2008, Lady McCartney finally received the £23.7 million spousal support and $70,000 child support was awarded to their only daughter, Beatrice. On November 2008, Paul composed a rant-filled song “Nothing Too Much, Just Out of Sight." The song attacks his ex-wife, "The last thing you do was to try and betray me/ In new morning light/ I'll never forget it/ And that's just outta sight," and "And you have money/ And no manners." |
