I'm allowed the exemption on alternating years - do I still need a 8332 form? E-mail

My divorce decree says that I am allowed the exemption on alternating years; when it is my turn do I still need a Form 8332? Yes, as the non-custodial parent you must have a Form 8332 fully filled out and attached to your tax return in order to claim the exemption.  You still need your spouse to fill out the form and give it to you before you can file.
