In a land where marital bliss rules after all look at Mickey and Minnie Mouse, plus even Jasmine and Aladdin are quite content.  The Prince and Snow White are happy and so are all of the other couples from the dozens of movies created we have a shocking divorce that has erupted from the castle of happiness.  Apparently, all of the happiness from the happily married animated couples just was not enough to save the marriage of Roy E Disney.  

You may ask who is Mr. Roy E. Disney and what makes him so special.  Well the younger Mr. Disney is the nephew to the late and beloved Walt Disney who is responsible for the theme parks and dozens of movies that have delighted youngsters both young and young at heart for years.  What could be the cause of a 51-year breakup from his wife Patricia that was so awful?  While much of the details are still unknown, the dear Mr. Disney filed divorce from his wife on January 19, 2007 in LA County Superior Court.  

If you have noticed there seems to be a lot of divorces coming from LA County, California.  The shocking news is that the couple had been married for 52 years at the time the divorce was tiled.  Disney who was 77 when he filed, cited irreconcilable differences with his 72-year-old wife Patricia.  After 52 years and four children what could possibly spoil the mood of happiness?  Mickey Mouse is certainly not pleased right now.

The divorce was settled out of court however, using a method called the Alternative Dispute Resolution or ADR, which is a form of collaborative law.  While the exact result of the divorce is unknown, it is certain that the happy couple split peacefully and without problems.  Using the collaborative law method they both worked together to amicably split the assets without creating a huge court battle.  

While many think that using such a method is foolish, it works out to a smart move on their behalf, especially considering that all four children born into the marriage are all grown.  There was no matters of custody or child support to consider, which makes the option of looking to collaborative law so much easier.  

The Disney couple is one of the oldest couples to divorce in a long time and set a role model for couples divorcing.  It is possible to work out a solution completely without the intervention of a judge and still keep your personal business all your own.  While the news of the divorce shook the internet as well as the castle walls, the news of the exact settlement have stayed safely locked inside of Mickey’s safe.  

Whether the exact figures for the divorce will ever be leaked is still yet to be known, however the land of Disney is once again peaceful and there are better things to worry about.  Such as when is the next movie coming out, and what roll will Mr. Disney play in the family company now.  Since he has spent some many of the last few years, roll hopping around the company he has made quite a name for himself in helping ensure that things are run just the way his uncle would have wanted.  

But all jokes aside, the Disney divorce is a great role model for many couples.  With a peaceful resolution, and a happy end to the marriage it goes to show that it is possible to be happy without a lot of fighting and feuding in court over a settlement.  Instead of spending your time, fighting you can spend your time enjoying life and perhaps even working on a few more movies to come from the Disney vault.  

But with the beloved theme park opening shortly after their marriage, one thing is clear the former Mrs. Disney certainly did not walk away empty handed; she left with a nice sized settlement.  Nevertheless, sources have said that the divorce was a long time in the process.  Why they waited quite so long, will always be a mystery, but since mysteries are the spice of life we can move onto helping make sure Mickey and Minnie are not headed towards trouble of their own.

In a world where there is little hope for a lasting relationship even the Beatles can’t stay married!  Paul McCartney is separated from his latest wife Heather Mills McCartney and the divorce has dragged out for a little over a year so far.  With the couple’s child four years old now there are huge debates over if and when the divorce will ever be over.  

Mills McCartney the is claiming physical abuse as one of the reasons for the divorce, and McCartney is claiming there was never any such abuse.  Add to that claim the dispute over custody of the little girl Beatrice and you can see why things are taking quite so long.  Now that we have a nice spicy mix let’s throw in the biggest spice of all, over 1 billion in assets.  

With that much money at stake it is obvious why anyone would want a piece of it.  However, the divorce fascinates some people in the United States who are not used to the way the British courts handle legal matters.  With such a bitter and ugly divorce in process this has no sign of ending anytime soon.  

But sources close to McCartney say that there is a settlement in process.  However, whether Mills McCartney will accept the settlement or not is still unknown.  McCartney has apparently vowed that the nasty and bitter divorce will be resolved by next year though.  He has put off a tour for his latest album as well as a career in the United States until the divorce is settled.  Mills McCartney has also allegedly decided to postpone her move to the United States as well.  

The rumors are circulating that Mills McCartney will walk away with a whopping $56 million settlement plus joint custody of their daughter.  However, how true that is still hasn’t been determined.  With a settlement agreement apparently reached in March of 2007 there is still no agreement that has been finalized.  Add to the fact that there is no agreement finalized yet, and that their marriage didn’t even last long and you can see why it could be years more before the divorce is actually finalized.  

But is there hope for the Beatle star to walk away from this looking good to the media?  Of course, the media loves Sir Paul McCartney.  However, the lovely model Heather Mills is public enemy number 1 in Britian.  With even McCartney’s children shunning her as well as the rest of the Britian public there is nothing looking good for Mills McCartney.  

However, Mills McCartney is not the first Beatle wife to be treated unfairly.  All other Beatle’s wives have been treated unfairly as well.  Despite the huge settlement that Mills McCartney stands to cash in, she has maintained that she is not a gold digger.  However, with the short marriage and the amount of money she is demanding many are arguing with her self description and claiming that she only married Sir Paul so she could rake in the dough that he has acquired over the years.  

As the divorce has dragged out Mills McCartney has even stepped into the spotlight trying to make a name for herself with the show Dancing with the Stars.  With a prosthetic leg included as part of the “star” package for Mills McCartney there is plenty to worry about.  There is definitely no guarantee that Mills McCartney will be able to make it on her own.  After all, Heather has been rumored to demand McCartney pay for her security personnel on a permanent basis.  

If Heather is able to make it on her own, why does she need Paul’s help to pay for her own security crew?  So as this divorce drags out for the next couple of years, it will be interesting to see how the divorce plays out in the British court system.  However, it’s not over until the Beatle sings and while he’s looking smug lately, he is certainly not singing. So waiting for the process to be wrapped up could take forever, in the meantime Mills McCartney can eat up the publicity while she works to launch her own career and try to decide how to spend his money.

Considering that, people watch the news of celebrity’s triumphs and heartache even more than they watch their own there is no wonder why celebrities hide so much.  However, there is always celebrity gossip to share.  So from the well known celebrities to the not as well known there is always plenty to talk about.  

First, we have Ann Heche’s divorce.  In early June 2007, Ann’s hubby filed for divorce in LA county California.  Heche’s hubby Coley Laffoon has filed for divorce after only being married for five years.  Even worse news for Heche is he is seeking joint custody of their 4-year-old son, plus spousal support!  Talk about a double blow after such a short marriage.  Nevertheless, the relationship was possibly doomed to failure after she meet Laffoon while he was working on a documentary for her previous partner Ellen DeGeneres.  Seems that Ann has a problem staying faithful in a relationship without straying for better ground.  

In addition, the Artist formerly known as Prince is about to be known as the man formerly married to Testolini Nelson.  The divorce was filed on May 24, 2007 in Hennepin County in Minnesota.  While exact details are not known, the lawyer representing the artist has confirmed the divorce was filed.  However, until the case is unsealed exact details are not known.  So much for the artist staying married this time.  Maybe the next marriage will be the perfect choice.  

Even the rich and famous sometimes need some extra support following a divorce.  While some stars and celebrities turn to acting insane and stupid like Britney Spears, others turn to a more compassionate option such as Paul McCartney.  The former Beetles singer has admitted that he is seeing a psychiatrist because he is so upset over the breakup with the beautiful Heather Mills McCartney.  If anything has ever convinced you that celebrities have feelings, this should be it.  

Even Britney Spears and K Fed have managed to work out details of their divorce without a judge.  The couple spent 5 hours in negotiations at a lawyer’s office in California before finally reaching an agreement.  The exact details of the agreement are unknown, but we do know it involves a joint custody agreement and K Fed as the primary custodial parent.  Other rumors have even speculated that K Fed received a cool million in funds for the divorce as well, however that has never been actually confirmed.  

Add to the strangeness that erupts from Hollywood the strange love triangle that is emerging from the Demi camp and you really see how it is possible for two parents to get along for the children’s sake.  After all Demi and Bruce are no longer together but they still make appearances a lot with Demi’s new hubby Ashton Kutcher.  

Another strange occurrence involves another father walking away with custody in their divorce.  The Huff is in the middle of an awful divorce with his wife.  However, after a few problems have erupted in the divorce there is signs of hope.  He has once again managed to secure custody of the couple’s two children.  This leaves even more hope that normal fathers who do not hang out on the beach all day can also win custody of their children.

But in a world where wacky divorces are king, the Spears divorce is the best.  It goes to show that while stars do not always show their feelings, a divorce can tear them to pieces as well.  Rumors all ran rampant after Britney’s divorce because of her increasingly weird behavior in the weeks and months following her divorce.  She checked in and out of rehab at least twice, plus shaved her head and continued acting crazy and insane in front of cameras.  And you thought your behavior after a divorce was strange.  

All of this shows that even in the face of money and fame, divorce can harm even the most well known people are crushed by the emotional problems that a divorce can cause.  From Paul McCartney in therapy to Britney’s wacked out behavior it is obvious that divorce could careless how well known you are.  Realize that no matter what happens, Hollywood almost always has a new divorce to talk about.  After all, the average length of a Hollywood marriage is only a couple of short years.
